Sometimes the sounds of the morning birds and the feeling of warm sunrise on my face cause a unique and powerful joy. Sometimes I let myself be fully immersed in my surroundings to the point where my everyday problems seem trivial and temporary. Sometimes my mind escapes for a frolic in the woods, a trek up the rocks, a journey to a crashing waterfall, or a quiet seat overlooking a stretching landscape. Sometimes my heart yearns for adventure - and this was one of those times.
I’m not sure I’d ever be able to describe in words the quiet power that is Yosemite. As I stood at the edge of massive precipices that have overcome the test of time, I felt absolutely tiny and insignificant. I also felt connected and at home.
I explored Yosemite with a truly fantastic guy named Dalton. He’s quite resourceful when it comes to just about everything, and this trip was no exception. Due to crowds and completely booked up campsites within the park, we chose to camp out in our vehicle in a variety of cool spots just off the road. Oatmeal and coffee out of the back of a Yukon was a first for me, and such a cool experience that I’ll always remember.
It’s safe to say that we both thrive and are continually refreshed in mind, body, and soul by all that the great outdoors has to offer. Here’s to the next adventure!
